"Texas Music" by Rick Koster
published by St. Martin's Press/New York, NY/1998
The state's all-purpose zydeco accordionist is surely Ponty Bone,
though his playing can be heard on a virtual encyclopedia of Texas albums and at all
manners of music
festivals.
Bone, though, is at heart a zydeco guy, and though only two of his
three solo albums are still available (EASY AS PIE and MY, MY...LOOK AT THIS, both for
Amazing Records), his session and live work continue to form a fevered backbone for
the Texas music community.
